Privacy policy

FoundNow helps you find, or let out, a place near you. To do that we need to know who you are, roughly where you are, and what you are looking for. We collect the minimum that makes the product work, we do not sell it, and the only people who see your details are the people you choose to talk to.

• Your account — your mobile number (it is how you sign in), and a name if you give one. Email is optional.
• Your location — only when you grant it, only to show what is near you. You can search by typing a locality instead; location permission is never required.
• What owners publish — listings, photos and videos, rent and charges, availability, and the property address. The exact position of a property is blurred on public maps until a visit is agreed.
• Messages and visits — conversations between seekers and owners, and visit bookings, so both sides keep a record of what was agreed.
• Usage — which listings are viewed and enquired about. This powers honest counts like “seen by 40 people this week” and keeps rankings fair.

We use your data to run the marketplace: showing nearby places, connecting a seeker with an owner when the seeker chooses to enquire, ranking listings by freshness and responsiveness, and keeping fake or stale listings out of your results. We also use aggregate numbers — never your identity — to understand which localities need more supply.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not show you third-party advertising.

• Other users — your name and your messages are visible to the person you are talking to. Your phone number is hidden until both of you choose to share it.
• Owners — see enquiries on their own listings: the seeker’s name and message, not their number.
• Our staff — a small moderation team can see listings, reports and account status, so that fake listings and abusive accounts can be dealt with. Every staff action is logged.
• Service providers — we use infrastructure providers to host data, deliver SMS one-time codes, and store photos. They process data on our instructions and for no other purpose.
• The law — we disclose data when a court or authority with jurisdiction lawfully requires it, and no more than is required.

Your account and its history stay while the account is active. Removed listings are kept in a non-public state so that the people who enquired keep their side of the conversation. If you delete your account we remove or de-identify your personal data within 90 days, except what we must keep to meet a legal obligation or resolve a dispute already under way.

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 you can ask us what personal data we hold about you, ask for corrections, withdraw consent you gave earlier, and ask for erasure. Write to us and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may escalate to the Data Protection Board of India.

We use device storage for one thing worth knowing about: keeping you signed in. There are no advertising cookies and no cross-site trackers. Map tiles are served by OpenStreetMap-based providers, which receive the map area you are viewing — that is inherent to loading a map — but nothing about who you are.

FoundNow is for people 18 and over — you must be an adult to enter a tenancy in India. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone younger; if you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so in the product before the change takes effect — the “last updated” date above always reflects the current text.
